Why people play

Three reasons to be there.

The cause

Everything raised goes to the Líderes del Mañana scholarships. The first edition paid for two complete undergraduate degrees.

The networking

Five hours with business owners, executives and EXATEC professionals across Houston. A foursome does what twenty emails can't — and teams are built by mixing people who haven't met.

The golf

Augusta Pines, shotgun start, prizes, raffle and dinner. No handicap and no tournament experience required.

Funding Líderes del Mañana

This isn't a golf tournament. It's a tuition bill.

Líderes del Mañana is Tecnológico de Monterrey's scholarship program for exceptionally talented students who cannot afford a private university. It isn't a partial award or a discount — it covers the entire degree.

The first edition of this tournament funded exactly that: two complete undergraduate degrees. Not part of each. All of them.

That's the unit of measurement here. Not trophies, not handicaps — degrees finished.

“A full career scholarship for one undergraduate student at Tecnológico de Monterrey.”

FAQ

What everyone asks

Do I have to be an EXATEC to play?

No. The tournament is open to anyone who wants to play and support the cause. Plenty of players come as the guest of an alum or a sponsoring company.

Do I need an official handicap?

No. This is a charity scramble, not a ranking event. If you've never played a tournament, this is a good first one.

Can I register by myself?

Yes. That's exactly what the individual ticket is for — we place you with a team on the day. It's one of the better ways to meet people here.

Is my contribution tax-deductible?

Yes. The event is processed through the Tecnológico de Monterrey Foundation, a U.S. 501(c)(3). Your receipt is emailed automatically.

Where exactly does the money go?

To Tecnológico de Monterrey's Líderes del Mañana scholarship program, which covers the full degree of high-performing students who cannot afford tuition.

What happens if it rains?

The committee will email everyone who registered. Write to exatechouston@gmail.com with any question or change.
